Expanded Quality Indicator Reporting Obligations from 1 July 2021

To better monitor and manage the quality of care and quality of life for aged care recipients, the National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program (QI Program) is being updated to include new quality indicators from 1 July 2021. The quality indicators that will apply to government subsidised residential aged care providers from 1 July 2021 include:

  • pressure injuries
  • use of physical restraint
  • unplanned weight loss
  • falls and major injury (new)
  • medication management (new)
